PursuitSAFETY's Technology Comparison Report
Published: March 16, 2010
Andrea Pérez
compiled PursuitSAFETY's Technology Report, using a wide variety of resources. The primary sources include interviews, various research studies done by, or in affiliation with, universities and/or government agencies, articles from news sources regarding said technologies; as well as product websites of individual technologies. All information drawn from a source contains a link to the corresponding website directly following the information.
We frequently read about technologies that will stop deadly police chases, so those of us working at PursuitSAFETY decided it was time to create one report about 21 different technologies that are in use today or under development. In our quest for an unbiased researcher, we found Andrea Pérez. Andrea is not associated financially or personally with any of the businesses or inventors of these tools used by law enforcement. She has not had a family member killed or injured as a result of a vehicular police chase or first-responder call. For the past two years Andrea has completed research and reports on various aspects of human trafficking for the University of Central Florida's Office of Global Perspectives, as well as personal research relating to poverty and labor economics. Andrea recently returned from Guatemala with a Rollins College group to participate in a volunteer project at a coffee farm.
Andrea shared that this experience was "truly life-changing!"
We hope the information provided here is helpful and life-saving.
