On behalf of PursuitSAFETY, Candy Priano filed complaints July 5, 2016, with two national organizations requesting the removal of Toyota USA's Prius police chase ads from the Internet. She registered a complaint via a phone call with a representative of the Federal Trade Commission. FTC Complaint #74010613.
At the encouragement of the FTC representative, Priano filed a second complaint, also on behalf of PursuitSAFETY, with the Internet Commission on their IC3 Complaint Referral Form to the Internet Crime Complaint Center.
As stated in PursuitSAFETY's complaints, we are not aware of any other advertising for profit that makes fun of a crime that turns deadly for so many law-abiding, innocent people and police officers. Although Toyota has ceased running these ads on television, the ads need to be completely removed from the Internet and Toyota websites.
While filing these complaints are an important and necessary step, increasing the number of signatures on our Remove Chase Ads Petition at Change.org is equally important. Please help us spread the word about signing our petition at this link: http://bit.ly/2gaicII
