What's the "Naughty" word?
"Accident!" Please consider not saying "accident" when it's not an accident. The Department of Transportation uses the word "crash."
Replace "Naughty" Word with M&Ms
If you hear someone use the word "accident" in reference to a crash due to a police chase or police response call, intentional reckless driving, or DWI, ask them to donate at least $1 to your
Naughty Word Jar because you can change the way the media and the public view the violent crashes that kill thousands of people every year.
Once your jar is full, please send just the money—checks preferred—to PursuitSAFETY. In return, we will send you a bag of M&Ms to replenish your now empty jar. Our address: PursuitSAFETY, P.O. Box 3128, Chico, CA 95927-3128.
Plain or Peanut?
Yes! Let us know your donation is from your Naughty Word Jar and write Plain or Peanut on your note.
Game Variation. Whenever you read or hear the word "accident" used in news stories, write a brief letter to the editor and explain that these crashes are not accidents. Just let us know that you wrote a letter or send us a link to your letter. We'll reward your extra effort with a larger bag of M&Ms.
We will post your letter on this website!
We thank our donors!
We thank everyone who supports this cause because they are the
"Driving Force Behind PursuitSAFETY."
Families and Friends can join forces by donating to PursuitSAFETY in memory of their loved one(s).
We will then post a memorial, similar to this one for Kristin Saragusa.
