This is the third annual memorial blood drive in memory of the sisters, who were killed on November 23, 2007 by a speeding Illinois State Trooper. Past blood drives have collected over 75 units. Who does what? PursuitSAFETY will:
Make the initial contact with the blood center in your area to provide you with the name and phone number of the person you need to contact at your blood center to set up your blood drive date.
Be just a phone call or an email away to help you with your questions and concerns.Provide you with PursuitSAFETY's promotional materials.
Promote your blood drive on PursuitSAFETY's facebook group page and on our website calendar.
Your Blood Center will:
Provide you with a planning guide to set up your blood drive.
Provide you with promotional materials.
Arrive on time with the appropriate medical staff and equipment to handle the number of donors you expect to arrive at your blood drive.
Respond quickly to your questions.
You will:
Meet with your blood center representative.
Schedule your blood drive well in advance. Determine three possible dates for your blood drive before you call your blood source center just in case your first choice is not available.
Secure a location with access to a restroom, e.g., a school, church, activity center.
Recruit blood donors to meet your target goal (number of donations). Invite family, friends and co-workers to be blood donors.
Schedule donors and remind them of their commitment to donate blood. On the day of your drive, give the donor appointment schedule to the nurse in charge.
Be available the day of the drive.
